Avoid these foods for the sake of Clear Skin!

Do you know that in many cases the key to saving the skin might simply be in cutting some pimple-causing foods for a softer, smoother, and clearer skin complexion?

If you feel like you’ve tried all acne treatments possible and still can get rid of the stubborn acne and breakouts, maybe it’s time to change your diet. With a little change in the way you eat, you can hydrate and improve your skin while avoiding breakouts.

There are few foods that it is desirable to be avoided for clearer skin.

Sugar – sweets are to blame for that pimple that didn’t existed yesterday! Sweet food and food that has high glycemic index, like donuts, white bread, and pretzels, can raise your blood sugar levels, making the skin prone to breakouts. Elevated blood sugar stimulates the insulin and elevates the acne-causing hormones, excess oil, and increased skin cell production, all of which lead to clogged pores and breakouts.

Salt - meals should be made without salt when eating out for calmer skin, because too much salt can dehydrate the skin, leading to swelling and making it more difficult for the skin to heal acne and breakouts.

Iodine - shrimps, crabs, and lobsters are high in iodine, which leads to clogged pores, acne and breakouts. This mineral creates irritation within the skin and accelerates the formation of pimples, especially if the skin is oily and the pores are already clogged or congested.

Dairy products – cheese, ice cream, milky cream, can lead to acne. Eating dairy products can also release the insulin that plays a big role in the appearance of the acne and breakouts, especially in the area of the chin, jawline, and the neck.

Alcohol - alcohol dehydrates the skin, highlights wrinkles, and prevents the skin’s healing. Also, it has negative impact on  vitamin A, B3 and C, which are important antioxidants for the skins vital cells.
